Advanced PLO Mastery Review
Pros: Here’s what we liked about the course
- You get access to game theory optimal pot-limit omaha strategy and detailed hand range analysis backed by Monker poker solver.
- You get access to a private Facebook group to discuss cash game strategy and hands.
- There is a lot of Play & Explains content at different stakes as well as some heads up action.
- This is the first Upswing poker course I’ve seen that includes quizzes for each section (and shows explanations for wrong answers).
- The video player allows you to speed up or slow down videos to match your own pace of learning
Cons: Here’s what can be improved
- We don’t subscribe to the instructors’ strategy that you must be aggressive pre-flop. In fact, we personally take a contrarian view to PLO and like to see many cheap multi-way pots.
- If you don’t like learning concepts through solver analysis this course may not be for you.
- When instructors are multi-tabling in Play & Explains it can be difficult to follow the action on a small screen.
- Even though they are not very popular yet, we’d like to see strategy content for PLO tournaments
-
This course is geared towards advanced, deep-thinking players and recreational players may have a tough time understanding the concepts.
Is Advanced PLO Mastery Worth it?
Yes, but with a caveat. It’s only worth it if you are planning to put in the study time. There are lots of concepts that will improve your win rate if you apply yourself and really dig in.
